* Participate in the lectures, ask questions, answer questions

* Form groups of 2-3 students, arrange to meet with at least one UCSD faculty member to discuss their understanding of the Meissner effect, report on the results

* Occasional homework assignments (not graded)

* 30 mins in-class midterm

* Final paper and presentation
